  • I'm on the unlimited minutes plan with 3 X data and I've never had any big issues with Singtel at all. In fact they've been pretty nice with billing recently as well as I've missed payments from time to time.

  • Coverage wise it hasnt failed me so far, the app is easy to navigate to select roaming plans, More practical if the whole family is on Singtel to benefit from the discounts. Also helps if you're on singtel circle

  • Best coverage among the 3 telcos. i had m1, starhub and singtel for various stages in my life. singtel definitely has the best coverage overall.

  • Coverage is definitely better than the other 2 telcos. We live along the east coast, and when I was with Starhub and left roaming on, I used to get roaming charges. When roaming was off, I would lose connection sometimes. No such issues with Singtel, so while it's pricier, I definitely recommend it for its stability!

  • Price isn't everything. Service reliability is. I've been a Singtel customer for years.. I switched to M1 for 2 years as M1 was cheaper, but I switched back to Singtel once my 2 year contract was up. Why? There's no point in having lower prices if you can't get service when you need it. There was no service on M1 along the North-East Line back then, especially between certain stations. I could only look in envy at the Singtel compatriots while I sulk in defeat during my daily commute to work. Singtel is more expensive. It doesn't have 100% coverage. But it works when you need it, and that's all I need from it.

Hi Joel, yeah my experiences were anecdotal. Most of the reports at that website was for Singtel's internet and not their mobile services. Singtel's service uptime isn't 100% as well, but it met my needs. Your mileage may vary.
  • Hi everyone. I'm subscribed to SingTel's Combo 2 Plan. It's good for light internet users like myself. When I read news online, the speed is fast. Regardless of where I am, I don't encounter any connection problems. 2GB is sufficient as I've home broadband.

Customer service is one of the worst in the market. Always give empty promises and does not give proper resolution to the problem

With singtel since day one merely because the whole family is within the Singtel Circles for 30% off subscription. Much of a hassle to port to other telco as the recontract dates are different. Pros for combo plan : free data on Sunday, yearly recontract on one registered line. Cons : bad customer service, pricey. There was once the customer service officer from sales team went to recontract my mobile and send me the service agreement when i mentioned i did not intend to.. really hard to talk to the same officer that served me as I was really unhappy about how they dealt with this issue. Lots of calling back and forth with empty promises from the customer service on the call back.
  • Hello All. I pay $37.31 every month for SingTel's Combo 2 Plan (CIS Promo). I am satisfied with its service in terms of connectivity. I do not face any issues when using the internet at home or in public places. The speed is fast as well. That said, I've seen better deals and will change to a cheaper plan with a decent connection.

Hello, I’m using Data X Infinity. On the contrary, it’s not “Infinity”. When I signed the plan, the Singtel staff told me there’s a limit. And the limit is until 50gb; after you hit 50gb, it will be 1mbs. So it’s technically not Infinity. Yup, you can use the data on your laptop/iPad thru your own mobile hotspot. But been using a few months, I’m an avid gamer and I only hit about 20-25gb in one month. So I think there’s extra “room” for your laptop and iPad.

You can consider opting for GOMO, Singtel's sub-brand as they are giving 20GB, 200 outgoing calls and 200 SMS for $20.

For your question on DBS Altitude Card, yes. I am going to refer you to this article for other card recommendations, although I would suggest BOC Elite Miles for now. https://milelion.com/credit-cards/guide/ Hope it helps!

I own Singtel shares. In my opinion, the only chance that Singtel can recover will be the recovery of Bharti Airtel earnings.

Probably because a lot of competitors are coming into the telco industry. Their overseas business also didnt do well.

I would think that the pressure on Singtel to keep paying off dividends has also caused its leverage and credit risk to worsen also. It's dividend payout ratio is actually 77% for 2018 Q3, quite high! If Singtel were to cut back on dividends, its share prices will really tank since the dividends have all been priced into the shares. Maybe just to wrap Sandra point up, the measure of leverage that was talked about in the article was Debt/EBITDA. If more debt is taken on, but EBITDA decreases, the leverage levels will increase. That's probably why they downgraded Singtel's rating.

They are all doing not so well. Singtel being bogged down by its huge investment in Bharti Airtel India. Starhub undergoing massive business transformation. Profits down, dividends cut. M1 losing ARPU and the price war is hurting it. Plus, the incoming TPG, the current circles.life promos will all add up into more competition in an already super saturated market. Sooner or later there will be a consolidation. A small population in Singapore will have limited people on data plans, any price war will hurt revenues.
