      I would give zero star here if possible. Not worth one star for such horrendous customer service. I have 2 valid contracts exist concurrently in my Geneco account for the period March 2021 to March 2023. One is 24 months contract March 2021-2023 which was auto-renewed. The other is a 12 months renewal contract in Geneco own terminology manual renewal from March 2022-2023. In Feb/Mar 2022 I was contacted by Geneco representative to do an urgent renewal as my contract has expired. The person did not informed me that there was a valid 24M contract (auto-renewal) and I could not check as I don’t have a portal access at that time. I was stressed to renew for fear that my electricity will be cut off. I urgently renewed for 12 months which Geneco term it as manually renewed and because of this it override the 24M contract that I wasn’t aware of. The 24M rates was 17.66 cents and 12M rates was 26 cents. It was a big increased of almost 10 cents per kWh. So why is the system asking customer to renew in the middle of a valid 24M contract? Have tried to contact Geneco CS for almost 6 months since Sep 2022. I have to follow up with email and call every other week during the 6 months and Geneco CS manager level only call back once in Oct 2022 and never follow up when they promise to call back. During the call with the CS Manager, I access the Geneco account and under the Manage Contract, the old 2019 contract was gone when I was able to see it before this call. Then a new contract was added when it wasn’t there before. I asked the CS Manager if old contract can be taken out and new unseen contract can be added in, then which are valid contracts that customer is servicing? NO ANSWER from CS Manager. The whole interaction with Geneco CS was a horrifying experience. Customer is always wrong and Geneco CS is always right. Gave the feedback the auto-renewal and manual renewal is a big confusion but reject customer feedback and did not want to listen to the whole situation with lots of cutting off during the conversation. My honest review being their customer for 4 years. Don’t sign up with such company who don’t get their acts up with faulty renewal process, bad customer service and customer feedback is not their number one priority. If you are thinking of signing up with Geneco, avoid at all cost unless you want to deal with unclear contracts and bad customer service. I have terminated Geneco to get out of such bad service.       Totally agree. I contacted them since Sep 2022 on contract issues and their CS only call back once and never follow up to settle the case. I have ongoing emailed and called for almost 6 months until my contract is terminated in Feb 2023. In those months they never call back and it is customer who always call to push them. Customer is not their number one priority when we pay for their serivce.

      [Hidden Costs] Signing up was easy and you can do it on your own online. However the only thing that slightly pissed me off is that there was no security deposit information that i read, but was charged a 90dollar security deposit, i have been moving from electric retailers from pacific, senoko, SP and this was the first time i was charged a security deposit. And they even use my U-Save to offset part of the deposit. so i will just stay here for 1 year and dont think i will stay with this company.

      Worst electricity provider. No channels to cut electricity when I sold my house. Ended up with an exorbitant bill coz they need 3 weeks to process a closure. So the new tenant used my account at their leisure. Also the worst customer service experience coz they couldn’t bother to reply or ack

      [Customer Services] Robotic customer service following a very unfair Fact Sheet for consumers. Background:- Many have said it here that if you are relocating, you are not allowed to continue the remaining of your contract months at the contracted rate. You will be charged the early termination fee first. After that, you'll have to sign up for a brand new contract with Geneco before the termination fee is rebated (there are still conditions for this to happen which I won't elaborate here). My grouse is that the contract is terminated due to relocation. However, it is not the consumer wanting to terminate the contract, but Geneco who is terminating the contract due to relocation. It is terminated against my will. I have every intention to fulfill the contract at the new location and not terminating it. To rub salt in the wound, other retailers such as Senoko/Pacific Light allows the contract to be continued at another location but Geneco. So why can Geneco do that? The robotic answer is "Please refer to the Fact Sheet that you've read before signing up". I brought this up to CASE, but they are equally unhelpful in consumer protection. So, sign a contract with Geneco at your own peril.

      I like Geneco app; ease of use and easy to understand billing statement. I did a 6-month gave them-a-try and later signed up for 24-month which is remaining of around 20 months of balance. I am disappointed with this unfair practice that there is no option to transfer the remaining months of the contract to my new premises and being force to sign up new contract with Geneco if I want to redeem the penalty imposed on my existing one amount to $400. To sign up new 24-month contract which inevitably translate to be around $600-700+ more for 20 months (new contract needs to cover previous balance of remaining months) base on my average usage of 500kWh from an additional 6 cents of revised rate. Is there any recourse to this unfavourable option to existing customer? One should not be penalised due to moving to new premises. How is Geneco able to obtain long term support by existing customers who wish to extend their loyalty? My friend who is with Sembcorp power doesn't receive this same outcome!

      The relocation process is standardised and applies to all customers.

      There will be an early termination fee incurred when the account is terminated within the contractual period. Customers that relocate can receive the reimbursement of the early termination fee if they meet the following requirements:

      • Apply for a new Geneco Account at the published rate at that point in time.

      • Account to be under the previous account holder's name.

      • Plan to cover the remaining months of the old contract.

      All this information are made available in the Factsheet which customers can view prior to sign up or renew their contracts.

      1. How to switch to Geneco?

      Choose a plan on Geneco's website, enter your details and wait for a Geneco representative to get in touch with you. Don't worry! Switching of retailers will not cause disruptions to your electricity supply.

      2. Do I have to switch from an analogue to a AMI meter for the Get Free Sundays plan?

      It is not compulsory. If an AMI meter is installed, one will be able to measure their actual consumption on a half-hourly basis, allowing actual Sundays off. If you use an analogue meter, you will be given Sunday’s off based on the daily load profile that the Energy Market Authority has developed.

      3 . How long does it take for me to switch over?

      After sign up and submission of verification, Geneco will begin the verification process. The transfer process will take approximately 2 to 4 weeks upon submission of NRIC/FIN.

      4. Are there fees for early contract termination?

      Yes, there will be an early termination fee charged based on your dwelling type. Please refer to your contract for the exact amount.
