Maybank's Family and Friends Credit Card offers attractive cash rebates of up to 8% on daily essentials like groceries, dining and transport across Singapore and Malaysia. Maybank covers some crowd favourite merchants from supermarkets like DON DON DONKI, RedMart, to Deliveroo or Foodpanda for food delivery, and Grab / GOJEK rides for Transport, Disney+ and Netflix for Streaming services. [Useful For...] we consolidate our expenses so it was easy to hit the min. monthly spend of $800. Overview of the expenses we charge to the card Groceries: NTUC, Sheng Siong, Cold Storage, Redmart Dining & Food Delivery: restaurants and foodpanda/deliveroo Transport: grab, petrol Telco and Streaming: phone bills, netflix, disney+, hbo The max cashback is $125 per calendar month, with a cap of $25 per category. What i like is that you can choose five categories, out of the 8, for your cashback to be computed (of course, once selected, the selection is fixed for 1 year) [Card Hacks] 1. Maybank is not popularly used for petrol. We still use this card because we pay via the CaltexGo app instead of via the cashier counter, thereby getting a direct 14% (based on the mastercard promotion they have on the app). Coupled with this 8% cashback, that is still quite decent petrol savings we get! 2. just make sure you don't spend more than $312.50 per category every month because of the category cap. Anything beyond, you get a measly 0.3% cashback :(4

The strategy for this card is to consolidate bills from telco, food delivery, groceries. $800 minimum spending for 8% rebate, that will be more than the POSB 5% rebate for groceries. Great also if you use for transport such as bus/MRT and grab. All these can be included into the minimum spending.0

This is really quite a good card to get for the cashback. Its not that hard to hit the categories, especially for groceries. ALL groceries at major supermarkets can already, meaning you NTUC, Sheng Shiong and Giant. If you like me, don't own a car, I suppose the Grab trips will help you very easily hit their cashback requirements.0

Maybank F&F credit card is a useful card to own for families. With a bigger family unit, purchases for groceries from the supermarkets will be relatively higher than singles, thus easier to hit min spend of $800. Have been using this card as my main card for a long time until the bank revised the minimum spend from $500 to $800, but at the same time increase the cash reward from 5% to 8%.0

Eligibility: Who can apply for Maybank Family & Friends Card
- Principal cardholders minimum age must be at least 21 years of age
- Singaporeans and PR: Minimum annual income of $30,000
- Malaysian Citizens: Minimum annual income of $45,000, in employment for at least 1 year
- Foreigner: Minimum annual income of $60,000, in employment for at least 1 year
Fees and Charges for Maybank Family & Friends Card
- Annual fee: S$181.80 (first three years waived)
- Late payment charge: S$100 or 5% of the minimum payment due, whichever is higher
- Minimum monthly payment: 3% of outstanding balance or S$20, whichever is higher, plus any overdue amounts
- Interest on purchases: 26.9% per annum subjected to compounding if full payment is not made by payment due date
- Interest on cash advance: 26.9% per annum compounded daily on the amount withdrawn from the transaction date until the date that full payment is made
- Fees for foreign currency transactions: Up to 3.25% of the transaction amount

Okay, so 8% cashback on everything? Maybank’s trying to make me feel guilty for ordering takeout. Seriously though, the minimum spend is a little steep, but the welcome offer is tempting enough to check out.
