      UOB Absolute Cashback Card

This card offers what I believe is the highest cash back rate of any credit card. It is perfect if you want to receive an actual dollar amount as your incentive for using a credit card.

Applied for it for the sole purpose of pairing with Grab MC. Just 1 month after getting the card, UOB announced they would reduce cashback for GrabPay top-ups from 1.7% to 0.3%... Otherwise, this is a very fuss-free card and gives 1.7% on literally anything, as long as the place excepts AMEX. Also, i don't think there's a cap on the 1.7% cashback.

I believe that the current most common uses for this card has been for insurance and taxes which ultimately might be nerfed due to the top up being reduced to 0.3%

Still observing this card and benefits. Right now, monthly rebate is marginal. Nothing to shout about compared to One card. UOB imposed restriction on online usage for overseas merchant. Tried using this card since its co-brand with Amex but still cant use this card for overseas merchant online purchase.

[Others] It was a 5/5 card when I sign up but now it's straight up 1/5. And yes, it's because of the nerf to grab top up. AMEX by itself is not an attractive card as it's not accepted by all merchants hence the beauty of top up to grab with cashback was really enticing. Gonna cancel this card soon and move to other cards.

Update: The top-up to GrabPay wallet has been nerfed from 1.7% to 0.3%. As of now, there are better options such as HSBC Revolution Credit Card. I'll be keeping this to pay off utilities bills and insurance premium despite the nerf. It was effortless to apply for this card, thought the application would be rejected since I started working a month ago. AMEX is not accepted at all merchant, it can be used with the grabpay card, albeit it can be troublesome at times to top up the grabpay wallet, Cons: Apple Pay and Google Pay are still not supported for this card.

UPDATE: As seen on UOB's website: "With effect from 15 January 2023, the cashback rate awarded for Grab mobile wallet top-up transactions will be revised to 0.3%." Hence, the cashback for topping up GrabPay wallet will be reduced to 0.3% which is not attractive at all. Application process was done online with user-friendly interface and got approved within the same day. Great to use this card for topping up GrabPay wallet and earning 1.7% cashback as a result. As not every merchant accepts Amex, by using this card to top up to GrabPay wallet, you can essentially "convert" your amex card to a Mastercard by using the GrabPay Mastercard which is more widely accepted by merchants. As the card is under UOB, you can easily track your expenses using the UOB Mighty mobile app. All in all fuss-free and easy to apply, activate and use. No minimum spending required per month which is great for those who are interested in starting to get their first credit card but do not spend a lot each month.

[Useful For...] To top up grab wallet, other E-wallet, pay for insurances, and maybe any go government linked services. As most of the mentioned institution are excluded from cashback. [Cashback Card] A neat and tidy card that provide 1.7% cashback and maybe higher travelling cash rebates overseas, with not much other perks in essence.

Great for use for items you want to top up your cards - grabpay etc. However, since grab removed their points system awhile ago, i hardly use this cards except perhaps for some merchants who gives more points for grabpay, for paying insurances, etc. There is still a tiny segmented portion for the use of this card. [Cons] Echoing the previous comment, the card is not compatible with apple pay and google pay. Which makes it a hassle to carry an additional card along. #firstworldproblems
