Trust Link Credit Card (For Everyone Else)

[Cashback Card] The cash back in Link points required spending of SGD450 OUTSIDE of Fairprice group (which includes Kopitiam); In order for you to qualify for the 15% (or 21% for Union member) cash back in LinkPoints when you spend at Fairprice, you need to spend $450 per month OUTSIDE of Fairprice and Kopitiam. Wish they remove this requirement and include Fairprice & Kopitiam spending as part of the $450 monthly spending. [Promotions and Perks] Welcome promo is good, but to get the 15% rebate in linkpoints for Fairprice and Kopitiam purchases requires you to spend SGD450 outside of Fairprice and Kopitiam. Wish they remove this requirement that is making this TRUST card with Fairprice NOT favourable. The Credit Card is following the Standard Chartered which is known for poor customer service for Credit Cards. After reading the fellow negative feedback from other Trust Credit Card users, they are mostly (if not all) true which is also the same past experience I had with Std Chart credit cards. I am probably considering to downgrade my Trust Credit Card and remove the Credit Card facility and downgrade to a Debit Card. It's safer that way and only deposit a small amount into the account just enough for your purchases. although Trust Debit card has only UP TO 5% instead of UP TO 15% for credit card, it's safer and more achievable. 0.5% base rate Earn unlimited savings of 0.5% on FPG groceries^ and 0.22% on all other eligible spend^^. 2.5% monthly bonus Earn 2.5% on FPG spend^^^ when you meet a monthly minimum eligible spend of S$200 outside of FPG, capped at 3,000 Linkpoints. 2.0% quarterly bonus Earn 2% on FPG spend^^^ when you meet your monthly minimum eligible spend for 3 consecutive months, capped at 3,000 Linkpoints. ^FPG groceries refer to FairPrice, FairPrice Finest, FairPrice Xtra, FairPrice Xpress (excluding Esso outlets), FairPrice online, Warehouse Club, Unity, Cheers (excluding Esso outlets). ^^Eligible Spend refers to all Visa transactions made on your credit or debit card, excluding FPG spend and ineligible transactions. You will receive 0.22% Linkpoints rebates on all Eligible Spends, with no cap. See our FAQs or Product Terms to find out what transactions are ineligible.

[Customer Service] Customer service is bad. Although it was my mistake for missing payment the 1st time, the 2nd time was due to delays for the movement of funds. I only noticed and paid the bill on the last day but the funds would take up to 3 days to reflect, which according to the T&C, I would be deemed to have made late payment. I contacted CS for assistance. The 1st CS officer (CS1), which was around the payment date, told me that my payment was not yet reflected and asked me for late payment reason. CS1 told me that he will monitor and contact me to put up for waiver. But no news. Next, I noticed that I was even charged the late payment, and since I did not receive any contact from CS1, I contacted CS again and the 2nd officer (CS2) asked me the reason again. CS2 informed me that he will submit the request and told me to wait for news. After 1 week, there was no news. I noticed that I am less than 7 days away from the due date for payment, and contacted CS again. This time, CS3 spoke with me and asked me for the reason again. He informed me that no records and no waiver was submitted. Although I am willing to accept my fault for this 2nd late payment, the experience is bad. I eventually made the payment in order to end this ordeal of dealing with the useless CS team and cancelled the card. Fortunately, the purchases were small, so not much interest was charged. In fact, I do not usually use the card, unless there were some incentives at that point. Therefore, please do not trust Trust. They are definitely not Trustworthy and are totally inflexible with many things. This was made worse when the only way to make payment easily was to do manual transfer from another bank or to have a Trust savings account. It appears to be a planned way to frustrate customers and move them to Trust's own ecosystem.

Trust Link Credit Card (For Everyone Else)

Used the card for 3 months to try and hit the min spending to get the bonus. On the last month of the quarter, i was still short of $3 from the minimum spending to qualify for the monthly bonus and quarterly bonus. So i made another transaction on the 25th of the month in order to meet the minimum spending quota - that exceeded the minimum spending quota. This last transaction was put on pending for so long and only recognised on the 1st of the next month. Due to this, i lost my entire bonus points that i would have qualified for the month and the corresponding quarterly bonus. Called into customer service and they were so rigid and unhelpful. They kept repeating the same explanations and did not try to resolve the situation. They also kept pushing it to the merchant's fault for crediting it late. Honestly, I have never seen any other card that takes this long to process the transactions. Also, when i check the terms, it only mentioned on the spending within the CALENDAR MONTH (with no mention on the posted date condition). Their instructions/explanations on how to earn the points are also really confusing - i cannot imagine how my parents/seniors would be able to understand/handle this card. It is honestly so disappointing to use this card, just felt like they were really stingy in awarding the points. It also does not make sense that every last few days of the month - you basically cannot use this card as it will just end up getting carried over to the next month. The base bonus is also too lame to continue using this card if you don't hit the minimum spending. Will really not recommend to anyone considering this card. (I really try not to write bad reviews for any business as much as possible but really am feeling too triggered about this and it seems like this has also happened to others as well, not just me) [Promotions and Perks] [Hidden Terms]

      What are your thoughts?

I agree with your comments and feedback. In order to get the full 15% cashback in link points required $450 monthly minimal spending OUTSIDE of Fairprice and Kopitiam is UNREASONABLE and making this Trust card with Fairprice not favourable.

Don’t go for Trust Card at all costs!!! They unreasonably charge “purchase interest” when their app states there was no due amount to be made. After full payment made, they claim that despite it, they charge interest on a daily basis! Tried to call their CS and was told that they will call back in 2 hours. It didn’t happen at all. Non-apologetic despite I’ve request for fee waiver when it was their app that states no due amount! I’ve requested to terminate the card and there was no resolution from its CS. Avoid at all costs! One will be far better to sign up with other credit card than Trust! First time I’ve experienced such a lousy credit card. [Fee Waivers] [Customer Service] [Bill Payment]

      What are your thoughts?

I think this is because the underlying bank for Trust Card is Standard Chartered. Standard Chartered is known to be unfriendly and I agree with you it can be unreasonable. They refuse to waive fees and charges and interest even with their Standard Chartered cards. That was the reason why I had stopped using my previous Standard Chartered Bank cards.

There is only one option to create an account with TrustBank and that is via the myInfo from Singpass. The issue is i keep getting error when trying to retrieve my information from Singpass. It has been few days and the message still show "Please try again at a later time". Im not sure if the TrustBank app simply doesnt work with Iphone or that Singpass myInfo is the one that is not complatible with Iphone. Since there are no other ways to create an account with TrustBank, im still here without any idea of what to do next.

      What are your thoughts?

Although they claim that the approval is immediate, but I too face problems even with the first attempt. Need to call the customer service support (which their service has much room to improve) and need 2 to 3 days just to get my Debit and Credit Trust card facilities approved. The application and approval is not so easy as they claimed.

I had six unauthorised transactions on my card. I immediately called them upon discovering the first one. I was told to check with the vendor (overseas). I did, and obtained proof given by vendor to them showing I only made one transaction. They promised to look into it, but after 20 days nothing was done despite three calls and three follow up emails. I am still waiting for resolution. I have decided I will only pay for valid charges and ignore the rest, and will refuse to pay any late payment interest or fee.

I already have the debit card and the application is a breeze. However while trying to apply the credit card (months later), it got denied. Was then told by CS that once a cc application is unsuccessful, I cannot apply. Since they can't tell me the reason despite the notification message said to contact the CS team.. it is just a wasted effort and time

      What are your thoughts?

I made a credit card payment on 26/12 and there was confirmation by them.
Then I checked today and there was a penalty of $100 for late payment. They claimed that regardless of whether I paid on 26/12 ( since there was an outstanding amount of $5.29 because I purchased after 26/12 and didn’t settle this $5.29 by 1st January the Penalty was imposed.
They claimed they sent me an email reminder on 28/12 but I didn’t received any email. when I asked the customer service to resend, he said it’s past and now he will try to get a waiver for me.
Also when I tried to pair with my other credit card, I was told that I need to de register my phone with the bank so that authorisation can be approved. This is all so confusing for a senior like me.
Using trust card has now become a nightmare.
