      DBS Live Fresh Card

Easy to track spending to maximize cashback because it is based on transaction date and not posting date (out of your control, posting date is merchant dependent). Another plus point, the spending is based on calendar month and not statement month. Good for 5% cashback for contactless and another 5% for online as long as within $400 per calendar month for each category.

I applied this card before I graduate so i would have a FREE credit card for 5 years (with no annual fee). Have been loving this credit card, it gives me access to promotions offered by certain brands like Love Bonito and Shopee, I would say great card!

This is my first credit card and I have bene using it for over 2 years. Basically aim for $30-$40 cashback with $600-$800 spend ($20 cap each for online/offline). While new cards such as OCBC FRANK and UOB EVOL have shadowed this card in terms of benefits, it is a nonetheless a good card to achieve a respectable cashback, especially on top of some DBS Bonus Days / additional cashback campaigns.

DBS is not the best bank in the world for nothing. I guarantee that you will get your credit card the fastest out of any bank in Singapore, the customer support is the only one that is comparable to Amex (i.e. they actually know what they are talking about and you end the convo feeling happy). The card itself loses out to OCBC's Frank and UOB's EVOL slightly but using the physical card is great for the older generation who don't know how to use Apple/Samsung payments, plus the supplementary card is free to apply for unlike the others.

My first credit card as a University student! Applied for the Live Fresh Student Card and I've managed to get cash back on MRT rides (with SimplyGO), and f&b products such as McDonald’s, Starbucks, Golden Village, etc. The good thing about this is that there is no minimum salary/spend, the annual fee is waived for 5 years, which makes it very ideal for students! There is however a credit limit of $500, this ensures that I keep my spendings in check. Overall, it's a good starter credit card for students!

Been using for more than 2 years. [Fee Waivers] I have received waivers for twice. Not sure about its condition, but I am spending around $1000 a month with this card. Fee waivers are done automatically from their website. No human interaction needed. [Cashback Card] Great for daily usage. Contactless spending capped at $20 is too low. No clear details on which items are getting rebates, can only see total cashback received.

Signed up for this card on NUS campus during some promotion and got cashback for the promotion I think. One of the few credit cards that don't require an income declaration and fees waivered for tertiary students so it's a huge "Why-not" for me! Just be aware to pay off the bills timely as you would on a normal credit card because boy, the fees aren't cheap. Also take note to not exceed the card limit too!

One of the best entry level cashback cards in the market! Super useful for eco-spend (i use it a lot for BlueSG), but remember to hit the min. spend per month

Honestly a great card for students to start out with to learn how to handle credit cards as the spending limit is only $500/ month. Cashbacks are also offered on certain purchases. However, one thing to note is to not overspend the limit as you'll be charged $40! So be sure to spend carefully and check that you do not accidentally cross the $500 limit :)

The Best Credit Cards of 2022 Review: How does DBS Live Fresh Compare

      Is DBS Live Fresh Good?

The DBS Live Fresh Card provides a decent 5% cashback on a wide range of activities that the younger crowd partake in. Live Fresh offers cashback in areas of Online Shopping, Public Transport (via SimplyGO), Leisure and Entertainment, and Travel. Total Cashback is capped at S$60 per month, with S$20 max cap in 3 categories of online spend, Visa PayWave and all other spend. It is perhaps ideal as a starter credit card for youths, but definitely not a card majority of working adults would go for as its cashback categories and cap are rather limited. All other spendings give a 0.30% cashback rate, which is a pretty standard basic rate throughout most cashback cards.

Overall, DBS Live Fresh isn't impressive. There are other better credit cards also tailored to suit the lifestyle needs of Millennials like UOB YOLO, CIMB Visa Signature and UOB Preferred Platinum Visa.
