    Citi Cash Back

[Cashback Card] [Customer Service] [Promotions and Perks] Probably the best cashback card we have ever used. Been averaging in charging our Citibank CreditCard $2500 every month and cashback is averaging $50 - $60 monthly. Our main category for expenses are for groceries and travels. Besides the clean interface and easy to use app, Citibank customer service is one of the best in my opinion. Once, I had an suspicious transaction made from Australia in wee hours and Citibank instantly notify me on this and locked my credit card (which is a good thing in this case). Called Citibank in the morning and they had my card replaced & sent to my mailbox within 2 days. Pros: If your main expenses that is being charge to Citibank card is groceries, I would really recommend this card. Many deals in their "City World Privileges" including 1 for 1 hotel buffet. Cons/ Suggestion: It would be great if Citibank has a 0% fee on 12 months installment like what DBS/POSB does.

Great card with a new design. The cashback is very attractive, however need to keep track to ensure that the spending of the respective category hits the target. [Cashback Card]

Not too bad of a CC if your expenses revolve around petrol, groceries and dining. The 8% cash back is rather generous.

If I have a bank account with a requirement to spend on credit card for bonus interest, I would use that first to meet minimum spend. After that, no specific card comes to mind, so just use a general spending card, regardless of cashback or miles. For cashback, try to use one with low requirements for the cashback criteria, and if you max out the cashback cap on that, then use a cashback card with unlimited cashback. For miles, (I may be wrong), one used to be able to pick up IKEA gift cards and use a card with 4mpd on online shopping to earn. Not quite sure if this is still possible though. Then use the IKEA gift cards to pay off your purchases. If this isn't possible, then it's back to a general spending card. However, is there a reason why you are frequently going to IKEA? Furniture is build to last years, unless you are going there to eat at their cafe?

I use OCBC for its dining a lot as the cashback is great for dining outside. 6% cashback. Do note you have to spend at least $800 per mth Currently OCBC has a promotion, for registered customers to spend at least $2000 in 2 periods and get extra $40, or spend $2500 in 2 periods and get extra $90 kinda extra fun ;)

For Grab, hands down UOB One. You can get up to 10% rebate every month on it. No other cards gets even close to it. For Sheng Siong, you can consider POSB Everyday card. No min. spend too! Straight up rebate.

Hi anon, It's not about swapping your cashback cc to a miles cc, but rather, the question is whether you want to embark on the miles game. I find that cashback, while simple to understand, is just that. A rebate of some form. Miles actually presents a kind of game that's easy to pick up but difficult to master. Cashback, you spend, you get cash back. Done. Sometimes, you don't get a lot due to the lack of your minimum spend. Sometimes you get a lot, but then you get capped. Miles, you spend, you get your miles. No matter how much you spend, a little or a lot. Not only that, you are effectively not capped on how many miles you can earn. If you want to play the game simply, just spend normally and you'll eventually 'farm' enough miles to get a nice business class redemption. If you want to kick the notch up a little, spend time learning and maximizing the rules of the game, and your redemption comes a lot sooner than you think. So ask yourself, do I want to enjoy the complexity of the miles game and the satisfaction of maximizing my spend to get a luxurious business class redemption? Or am I content with a very straightforward and simple cash back ecosystem?

Hi Anon, under https://www.citibank.com.sg/globaldocs/pdf/Cash-Back-FAQ.pdf insurance (2 vi) and Grabpay (2 x) are specifically excluded from computation for the bonus cash back, but you should be able to get the 0.25% cashback on all other 'retail spend'. Having said that, most insurers only allow initial premium payment by Credit Card, so do take note. I'm not a cashback person, so this is based on my understanding of the T&Cs. The term 'retail spend' is a little vague though.
