Citi Cash Back Card Review 2020

The Citi Cash Back Card is a credit card ideal for earning cashback on groceries and dining, it offers one of the highest cash back at 8% for both Dining and Groceries. It also offers up to 20.88% off petrol at Esso and Shell. Take note that the 8% cash back is only applicable when you spend at least S$888 per statement month and this cashback is capped at S$25. For all other eligible retail spend, stand to receive a base cashback of 0.25%, with no cap. However, the S$25 cashback cap might be off-putting for some especially after having to spend at least S$888.

  • 8% cashback on dining at restaurants and cafes
  • 8% cashback on groceries at supermarkets
  • Up to 20.88% fuel savings at Esso and Shell and 8% cashback at other petrol stations worldwide
  • 0.25% cashback on all other retail purchases (no cap)

[Hidden Terms] Cash back not redeemable below $50, which is not mentioned during application. Which unlike other cash back cards redeemable at any minimum amount.

[Cashback Card] I would not recommend this card. Unlike other Banks with automatic cashback, you have to apply to offset the cashback. When I initially contacted Citi on how to offset the cashback, they took more than 1.5 weeks to revert back to me, and even then, they gave me the wrong link and the wrong details. It was only after a second contact, with 1more delay, that I was able to successfully redeem my cashback. These cashback details were also not readily available on the Citi website. Furthermore, note that you can only redeem your cashback in blocks of 5/10/20$. This makes it weird as I can't offset it from my monthly bill, unlike other normal banks.

    Citi Cash Back Card

One of my go-to cards because i dont try to airmiles-hack my spending. I spend on average about 2k on this card monthly, and the rebates are straight-forward, almost doesn't xpire.

    Citi Cash Back Card

[Cashback Card] [Customer Service] [Promotions and Perks] Probably the best cashback card we have ever used. Been averaging in charging our Citibank CreditCard $2500 every month and cashback is averaging $50 - $60 monthly. Our main category for expenses are for groceries and travels. Besides the clean interface and easy to use app, Citibank customer service is one of the best in my opinion. Once, I had an suspicious transaction made from Australia in wee hours and Citibank instantly notify me on this and locked my credit card (which is a good thing in this case). Called Citibank in the morning and they had my card replaced & sent to my mailbox within 2 days. Pros: If your main expenses that is being charge to Citibank card is groceries, I would really recommend this card. Many deals in their "City World Privileges" including 1 for 1 hotel buffet. Cons/ Suggestion: It would be great if Citibank has a 0% fee on 12 months installment like what DBS/POSB does.
