Terrible company. You will regret it. Just avoid. Despite buying a rather expensive annual plan, I can't claim for many cancellation due to covid. The customer service is really lousy. No one picks up the telephone and when you email them, they don;t reply for more than 2 weeks! By that time, it's too late and I had to make a decision on change to travel plan. Worst company I have experienced so far.0

For the past 5 years, we have been purchasing Sompo travel insurance everytime we travel (about 2x a year on average). Plans are comprehensive, claims are easy, customer service is also prompt and efficient. Nothing to fuss about for now unless a stronger contender comes in!0

Am extremely disappointed with my experience with Sompo. The Insurance agent took a shocking 5 months to get back on a claim I’ve filed, while remaining uncontactable during the period in between. I was finally informed that the claim was unsuccessful, and I wanted to seek clarification on the case. Again, she was uncontactable via both email and phone. Called the customer service helpline to seek advice, was told that they’ll remind her to review my case and contact me. It’s been a year and I have still yet to hear from Sompo despite many attempts getting someone to look into my case. [Claims Process] [Customer Service]0

What are your thoughts? - 17 Sep 2019Purchase of insurance was hassle free. But when you want to make a claim it delays for a few weeks and claim may not be claimable. There is no guarantee even though you report a claim. They request for doctor diagnose and if the diagnose statement requires payment to obtain, sompo will not reimburse it either.

What are your thoughts? - 01 Jul 2019Sompo TravelJoy is by far my most fav travel ins. It is rather competitive in terms of pricing and overall coverage. Claims are processed pretty fast. If I do not remember wrongly, my mom's claim for post medical bills is paid out within 2 weeks or earlier.

What Is Sompo TravelJoy - GO Japan!
GO Japan! Is Singapore's first travel insurance plan for travellers who are visiting Japan. Sompo provides medical attention and language assistance with this programme through:
- Cashless services at 740 medical clinics and hospitals in Japan
- Claim up to $500,000 for individual and $800,000 for families for medical expenses
- Free translation service over the phone
Additional Things to Know About Sompo Insurance Singapore Pte Ltd - TravelJoy
- Individual plans for children under the age of 16 must be made in the name of their parent or guardian
- The maximum duration for Single Trip Plan is 182 days
- The maximum duration for Annual Multi-Trip Plan is 90 days for each trip, of which multiple trips are allowed
- Claims must be submitted within 30 days of the date of incident through Sompo SG app or online application. You'll receive a reply within three days
- The Sompo Assist emergency hotline is +65 6532 2522
- Price premiums depends on length and location of stay
- For lost items, a police report must be made and your claim submitted to Sompo
- For any luggage/baggage delay, you have to request a letter of evidence from the airline in order to proceed with the claim through the Sompo SG app
