Foreign-based insurer MSIG Insurance was established in 2002, and sits under MSIG Holdings (Asia) Pte Ltd. At large, its parent company - Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company (MSI) - has net premiums totalling some US$13 billion, and assets worth almost US$59 million.
