Chubb Travel Economy Plan
I had never made any travel claims before, and the recent trip was the first. I had submitted all the documents needed for the claim via the portal, but supposedly there was some error. I was not informed of it until I checked the portal, and even so, the information about what was the error was not clearly defined. I wrote in to customer service too, but their replies were not very helpful. Will not purchase again.0

Chubb Travel Economy Plan
We paid TravellerShield Plus S$685.46 on Apr 2022, for our selfdrive trip to Iceland. SIA changed our connecting flight 2 weeks (July 2022)before our trip and we are not able to accept that changes, decided to cancel our plan. Try to claim S$2121.79 for our accommodation lost. They replied the claim "does not under any of the Specified Causes as stated". Chubb is expecting us to buy another air ticket 2 weeks before our trip to Iceland in summer! Don't buy any travel insurance plan from them!0

[Claims Process] [Customer Service] Claim experience with Chubb is a nightmare. Claim submission > 6months has not been resolved. The customer support gave empty promises whom promised the issue will be resolved the next day, but it didn’t happen at all. I’ll not advise anyone to buy the travel insurance from Chubb, it’s a scam!0
What are your thoughts? - Posted 03 Jun 2022TravellerShield Plus Confirmation bought thought DBS [Claims Process] I sent in a travel agency letter stating that my wife had fallen ill and needed a refund for tickets about 100 USD. The first email is filled with lingo and terms " No relevant benefits" so no claim bah bah bah. I asked in a replied email what documents are needed to make a claim, like a medical certificate? The second email replied with claim section 23 (this and that), bah bah no unfit for travel, no curtailment, no disruption, no forfeit fees. of course, my wife is unfit to travel, of course, there is disruption, fortreit fee and curtailment. I ask a simple question what document is needed to prove. They replied with lingo and jargon, with no straightforward answers or simple reasoning, It has been about a month. I plan to go on another trip and came to Seedly to see other alternative travel insurance plans hence leaving this review here. [Hidden terms] section something... take a lawyer to answer it in non-layman terms [Customer Service] The email said to call the hotline; customer service is kind but unable to help with their own terms used above lol.

What are your thoughts?View 1 replies - Posted 16 Aug 2021I just received an call from 6xxx 5459 who claim to be Lay Theng from Chubb insurance. I asked how did she obtain my mobile no. and was told that I recently purchased bill relief guard option while making an AXS payment. There is no agreement that opting in for such option will provide my consent to use my mobile no. for the sake of marketing purposes. Further more, Lay Theng have been hard selling after several rejection from me. 1) I have indicated that I am not interested in the plans she suggesting to me. However, she brush it off and say that, of cause I am not interested because she yet to explain it in details. 2) I have further mentioned that I am busy at the moment, but she still insist that she will only take 3 minutes of my time to further hard sell to me. Very bad experience and I would not use the add-on Chubb Bill Relief Guard option any more!

Chubb Travel Economy Plan
[Purchase Process] I purchase it as add on for my ANA flight via DBS bank in Feb 2020 for May 2020 travel (1 month travel). It cost me $68 and I find it quite a good deal. [Claims Process] - cos of covid19 flight cannot cancel Had to fill in an online form and submit tax invoices for my air ticket and hotels. Agent will call and confirm the purchases and everything was fuss free, documents required are easy to obtain [Terms and Conditions] Did not get blocked by any of them, did not read them well as well. Bought before SG Govt declare pandemic -- was lucky [Customer Service] Agent is really polite and straight to the point. I could get my claims in 2 weeks to my bank account.2

- 04 Nov 2020When you buy Chubb insurance , WHEN YOU CLIAM, do be aware that a simple hospital cash plan that I have own for a long Time with Chubb , for a $52 X 3 days hospitalisation cash plan , they will sent you a long list of questions asking your entire medical history , and very complex medical question for a $156 claim for cash hospitalisation , and even after providing the information , you have to wait and wait , and its under review , I dread to imagine , if you have travel insurance and all other claims , so beware , they sell the sky ,is easy to buy online, when you claim , totally different story [Claims Process]

- 28 Aug 2020I purchased travel insurance policy in October 2019 and cancelled it a few days later having found out my spouse had a joint policy with another company which was still valid for our intended period of travel. I received notification from Chubb that the policy would be cancelled, however, it was some months and many messages to Customer service before any action was taken. 6 months after the request Chubb made a refund payment but made it into an incorrect bank account, different from the details I had supplied. Again and after many more messages which they no long acknowledge I am still waiting for a refund - its now 10 months since the policy was cancelled. Whilst everyone must agree this is a completely unacceptable time to wait, the service given by Chubb Customer Service (this description used very loosely!!) is absolutely appalling. To be honest I am not all that concerned about the refund from a monetary point but I urge anyone intending to take out travel insurance with Chubb Malaysia to consider my experience before doing any business with them

Chubb Travel First Plan
I was very impressed with Chubb Insurance. I bought a vacation insurance with Chubb and managed to claim easily. Was supposed to go to Phuket for a trip with my family but due to COVID-19, the trip had to be cancelled. Chubb refunded my air tickets as well as my hotel stay. I just had to submit the reservations i have made with the airlines and the hotel. Thumbs up for Chubb. Will definitely purchase any travel insurance with them!1

- 03 Jul 2020June 2020 update: Had a mixed, but eventually positive experience related to Covid-19 claims. I'd purchased tickets to korea way before the pandemic hit for June 2020, and wanted to cancel my flights. Unfortunately, the airline charged $150 for the cancellation. The terms on the policy wording regarding pandemics are pretty clear (and the company made it clear on that tickets bought before March would ber covered). However, there was this clause: ADDITIONAL CONDITION Outbreak must occur within 7 days prior to the commencement of the Journey or if the Journey has already commenced, not more than 24 hours from one destination to the infected destination." This confused me, as the announcement on the website made it seem like it would be covered without any conditions. So I'd called the company to clarify. Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience here, as the dude said I'd be covered and kept asking me to read the clause. So I put in a claim request and received the following reply. "Due to the above, kindly be advised that your claim will only be temporarily closed. Should the Pandemic status of COVID-19 is still in effect within 7 days prior your scheduled departure date, kindly provide us with the confirmation that the incurred travel and / or accommodation expenses are forfeited and non-refundable, then we shall proceed in reopening your claim for reassessment." I was pissed, but lesson learned - I'll email them in the future. Anyway, I figured I'd just wait till 7 days before my flight to reopen the case. Here comes the good part: As soon as I could, I emailed them saying the travel advisory is still in effect, and I'd received the money via paynow the next day. THE NEXT DAY! That was impressive. --------------------------------- I had two and a half awesome experiences with CHUBB. The first time was for my trip back to Hawaii. As it was a transit flight thru Shanghai, our bags were supposed to be sent directly to Singapore. Unfortunately, my bag liked the dim sum so much it decided to spend an extra two days there. I had to buy some essentials that were in my bag, and Chubb covered me with a cool $800 for the baggage delay. The second time was when my girlfriend got hit in the head by a surfboard while in Bali. As a precaution, we went to the hospital to check for any injury, and they warded her overnight. The bill came up to $1500, which Chubb completely covered. When I received my phone bill, I was shocked by the $60 in overseas calls. Turns out Indonesia's roaming charges are a nightmare, and the calls I made to Chubb cost me a bomb. But guess what, Chubb covered that too! It's not really a company that comes up much when I hear about travel insurance, but after these experiences I've remained loyal to them, and would wholeheartedly recommend them. (It's also really cheap thru the amex website).

MoH has issued a travel advisory against all travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic, except for travel permitted under special arrangements. For all policies purchased or renewed on or after 09 Oct 2020, travel cover will be available even where the insured's travel is contrary to the above advisory, subject to all policy terms, conditions and exclusions. Our policies will continue to exclude all claims of any kind directly or indirectly arising from, relating to or in any way connected with COVID-19 (or any mutation or variation thereof or any related strain) and/or its outbreak.
