NTUC Income IncomeShield Integrated Shield Plan Preferred

To me, getting sick or having an injury is already stressful enough. I would definitely want an insurance to work for me instead of making myself fit into their plan. NTUC income has the most affordable plan with high coverage that is taking away any added stress. Claim process is easy, but if you have any questions just call up to your agent or customer service team, they have the sufficient knowledge to get your questions answered.

[Claims Process] Submitted hospitalization claim on 16 sept till today 12 Nov still no conclusion. I had to check with the hospital on my own and hospital said they already provided whatsoever documents and no documents pending on their side. Last contact with NTUC was on 6th Oct. Either someone is not doing their job or NTUC is unable to in fact process claims within 14 working days. [Agent Responsiveness] Agent is utterly useless and non existent with no empathy. When I had to check for claims advice she screenshot my policy and said I should know my own condition whether it is claimable or not and left me at it. Hospitalization claim she asked me to do it my own. There was an issue with my premium as well due to her lack of urgency to inform relevant NTUC parties on my change in policy number. I had to walk in to NTUC branch office and resolve it on my own as well causing me a lot of inconvenience and had to pay my large premium 1 more time and wait for a refund for the wrong policy. After I requested to change agent, new agent is not helpful either. Asked her to follow up on the claim but non existent and no results.

[Claims Process] Had a surgery done on the 28th of October 2020, discharged a week later and proceeded to submit pre hospitalisation claims. Only today, 20th May 2021, have i gotten confirmation regarding my claim for my hospitalisation. My specialist was not in the panel, but still, it took them almost 7 months to approve my claim. Whoever was the officer in charge of the claim was very inefficient, They kept sending letters to my specialist to the wrong address, they take forever to send them an email, keep screwing up between surgeon and anesthesiologist, I had to call every few days, every week and every other week to check that progress is being done, but its always stuck and not moving. I had my pre and post hospitalisation bills stuck because of this.

How does NTUC Enhanced IncomeShield Compare with Other Integrated Shield Plans?

According to our calculations across 3 chosen age groups, NTUC IncomeShield is one of the most affordable Integrated Shield Plans for Class A, Class B, and Standard IP.

Standard Integrated Shield Plan Premiums for age 25 to 45

At age 25 to 35, NTUC Enhanced IncomeShield is priced below average for Class A and Class B and Standard IP. Thus, if your age next birthday is within 25 to 35 years old, you can definitely consider NTUC Enhanced IncomeShield for their affordability across 3 different tiers of plans.

Class A Ward Integrated Shield Plan Comparison

Note that the pricing system for NTUC Income's IP is different - Singaporean Citizens are charged lesser than Permanent Residents for Class B plans. At Age 45, the premium for permanent residents is above average. Hence PR applicants might want to be wary of this.

If you're looking for a Private Hospital IP, you should look somewhere else as NTUC Enhanced IncomeShield has one of the most expensive premiums for Private Hospital wards evidenced from the comparison chart below.
