      UOB EVOL Card

Superb cashback card, but need to calculate spending for each category ($250 per each big category) and avoid charging large amount to this card. Can easily get $40-$50 cashback with slightly over $600 spending monthly

3 posted transactions per statement month for fee waiver is easy to hit. Rebate is effectively capped at 6.67% ($40 for $600 spend in mobile contactless / online, requires $250 per category to max rebates). A very good card for the meticulous people that ensures spending is as close to $600 (but more than $600), and that spending is not done at one of the many UOB$ merchants e.g. cold storage.

Easy to use for the rebate on weekend. Definitely a must for dining and entertainment. Young people favourite. Will definitely recommend to friends.

effectively a 6.67% cashback card. You will have to do your own DD to track your spending (split between mobile and online spend, together with some misc expenses) to optimize your cashback. otherwise, still a great card to have for fresh grads or even working adults with around $600 monthly expenses.

Good card to fill the areas for dining, grab and entertainment as it offers more than ocbc 365 (which i was previously using). But note that 12% cash back is only for these categories, and any other categories would be best purchased with another card. If you eat out often and use grab frequently (even topping up of grab wallet), this would be a card for you. They have a recent 12% rebate promotion for 3 months, but check the terms and conditions for the min spend of $600. Best to call up UOB once you receive the card and reset your statement month to the calendar month, this way it will make it easier to hit the bonus qualifying period for the 12%.

Pretty attractive dining and entertainment offers, but only if you visit these places. Overall, decent but not the best cashback program.

Interesting card face that rewards for “youngsters” kind of spending. To take note of the minimum spend else the Cashback percentage is relatively Low

    • Only use when i dine with friends or watch the movies together, will try to use more next time , now paying minimum payment of $100 for $3000 spent till next paycheck.

      UOB EVOL Card - Benefits

      Is UOB EVOL Card good?

      Pros

      • Generous cashback of up to 8% for categories of Dining, Grab and Entertainment; great for individuals who enjoy these activities
      • There is also a 3-5% cashback on Online Spend which is ideal for those who prefer online shopping
      • An ideal starter credit card for the out-going working adult, with little to no financial commitments. UOB EVOL offers rewards in activities that they frequent like dining out, entertainment, and online shopping. The relatively manageable minimum income requirement also makes UOB EVOL more accessible to those who've just started their jobs.

      Cons

      • As shown in the table above, there are distinctions between weekday and weekend cashback rates; hence, might be additional work to keep track of.
      • Not for the thriftier spenders as there is a minimum spend requirement of S$600 to qualify for the attractive cashback rates
      • Not for those looking to get rewards on essentials like Groceries, or Public Transport
      • Low S$60 cashback cap per statement month. Assuming that the UOB EVOL cardholder leads a less penny-pinching lifestyle, one might easily hit this cap and the money-back might not be much in the grand scheme of his/her monthly spendings.
