I've been using the PRVI Miles card for 3 years now. It's taken a while to accumulate points with just local spend, but a couple great aspects are 1) Fee waivers, including late payment and interest on late payment, are done over a short phone call with an automated voice operator with no questions asked 2) Fraud transactions are investigated promptly over a quick phone call, with a replacement card arriving within 4 days Only thing that is not great is annual fees are charged automatically via points accumulated, so they deduct your points based on the value equivalent to the annual fee. Doesn't seem to be a channel to ask for annual fees to be waived.

Fee waivers are almost impossible to obtain if the minimum spending amount is not met. Being stuck in a pandemic, spending will naturally decrease. There is no chance to talk to a customer rep in terms of fee waiver but rather just pressing numbers and waiting for the rejection of fee waiver.

Useless card, shady bank, poor rounding policy. Get another miles card, almost anything else will be better than this piece of crap.

      UOB PRVI Miles Mastercard

Also known as the least foreigner-friendly bank in Singapore, they will ask you to upload all sorts of documents when you apply via online banking, then a few weeks later when you ask them about the application status, they'd ask you to send the documents all over again, this time via email. And this could go on and on. But assuming you're one of the "lucky" few and got a card -- this card, here's some bad news for you: it's not worth it. The 1.4mpd earn rate is per $5 block, so unless your transactions are always in multiples of 5, you're being shortchanged by UOB. Spend anywhere less than $5, and you'll get nothing. Spend $9.99 and you'll get only 7 miles, and that's 0.7mpd, a far cry from the advertised 1.4mpd. You might think it's not a lot, and that's true, but if you have a lot of transactions, these differences can quickly add up, and in the long run, you might even be better off with a card that earns 1.2mpd, but without the $5 block, like Citi Premiermiles. As far as fee waivers are concerned, getting one on this card might give you first a heart attack, then a migraine. A heart attack happens when UOB uses your hard-earned points to offset the annual fee without any prior notice. You might wake up one beautiful day and see an empty UNI$ balance, that just means UOB has decided to give you a surprise gift on your card anniversary. Now you either accept that gift gracefully by paying the 200+ annual fee, the highest among the non-premium cards by any bank in Singapore, or you call up the customer service and request for an annual fee. However, the second option is rarely successful unless you're prepared to cancel the card. No matter what happens, though, after a long and arduous call with the customer officer, you're gonna get a migraine anyway.
