Spotted this running for the whole of October and thought it was worth a proper post since I haven't seen it discussed much yet here on Seedly.

What is the October Booster?

From 1 to 31 October 2026, Chocolate Finance is automatically adding an extra 1% p.a. on any new USD you hold above your starting USD balance. No opt-in. No minimum deposit. No maximum cap.

For new users, your starting USD balance is set at US$0 — so every dollar of USD you add during October qualifies for the +1% p.a. bonus. Combined with the base USD rate of 4.3% p.a. on your first US$20k, new users are effectively looking at 5.3% p.a. on new USD added this month.

Why is the USD rate so much higher than the SGD rate?

Short answer: US interest rates are structurally higher right now. The Chocolate Finance SGD accounts are running at 3% p.a. on your first S$20k — still solid for a no-hoops product — but the USD side has been the more compelling number all year. The October Booster makes it even more interesting for anyone who already holds USD or is comfortable doing an SGD→USD conversion.

About the SGD→USD conversion:

Chocolate Finance applies a small FX Guarantee Fee when converting in-app — roughly 0.25% on weekdays and 0.50% on weekends. However, for the first 24 hours of October (11am 1 Oct to 11am 2 Oct 2026 SGT), the FX Guarantee Fee is waived entirely at 0%. If you're planning to convert SGD to USD to catch the booster, that window was the cheapest time to do it. If you missed it, weekday rates still apply for the rest of the month.

What counts as "new USD"?

New USD is defined as anything above your USD balance on 28 September 2026 (the snapshot date Chocolate Finance used to set starting balances for existing users). For new users signing up fresh in October, your starting balance is US$0, so everything you add counts.

SGD-to-USD conversions done inside the app count as new USD too.

Promotional returns payout:

The +1% p.a. October Booster returns are credited as a separate payout within 7–10 business days after 31 October 2026. The regular base returns (4.3% p.a.) continue accruing daily as normal throughout the month.
