If you've been sitting on the fence about Chocolate Finance, this is genuinely the best window I've seen to actually pull the trigger — there's a limited-time booster running right now that won't be around much longer.
What's actually happening
To mark Chocolate's 2nd birthday and Singapore's SG61, they're giving an extra 1% p.a. on top of the usual returns, on qualifying new money you add after opting in. The promo runs 1 August to 30 September 2026, and the bonus gets credited as a single lump sum about 10 business days after it ends.
So what does that actually mean in numbers
Combined with the standard 3% p.a. on your first S$20,000, qualifying new money effectively earns 4% p.a. during the promo window — that's a meaningfully better rate than most fixed deposits right now, with none of the lock-in.
The part people get wrong — read this before adding money
You have to opt in BEFORE you add the money, not after. Here's why: your "starting balance" is whatever your highest SGD balance was during the promo period before you opt in. Only money added after opting in counts as "new money" and qualifies for the extra 1%. If you deposit first and opt in later, that deposit becomes part of your starting balance and won't earn the boost.
How to actually claim it
A couple of edge cases worth knowing
If you're new to Chocolate Finance
Your first eligible deposit (up to S$20,000) can qualify for the Birthday Booster as long as you opt in before adding it — so this is actually a good moment to start rather than wait, since new customers get the same shot at the boosted rate as existing ones.

Don't sleep on the opt-in-first step — I've seen a couple of people in other threads miss out purely because they funded the account before tapping the banner.
