We submitted a travel claim on 12 June 2023 whereby its confirmation email stated “14 days processing period”. Received claim settlement email on 04 Jul which was more than 20 days instead of their committed 14 days period. In the email they stated that the payout will be made into the bank account “within 7-21 days” period. HLAS again failed their committed TAT. After the lapse of this 21 days period (due on the 25th Jul), I sent an email to them on 28 Jul to check on disbursement. However, the reply was to allow them another “7-10 working days” for the disbursement to be received. There was no reason nor apology offered for the delay. Up till this point, have not received the payout and this was for a small $50+ claim.0

[Claims Process] Returned from Bintan. Tried to claim simple medical claim as my children got sick. NO RESPONSE after over a month. Called 3 times to follow up, emailed twice, communicated over whatsapp multiple times. First they said will take 14 days to respond. Then they said will take 21 working days. When I called after 6 weeks they said they will expedite and someone will get back within 1 within one working day. Called again, same message. Still waiting for their call. Avoid. Not worth the hassle. [Customer Service] Polite, but no follow up ... feels like they respond just to make you go away0

[Claims Process] SUPER LOUSY. HLAS took over 2-3 months to respond to my claims. End up, there was apparently a policy that I had to seek overseas medical treatment while in Bali. However, this was not made known beforehand, and I only seeked treatment when I arrived back in Singapore. They made me go through so much hassle to send information, and end up I couldn't even claim. LOUSY, should've told me from the moment they replied to my email in the first month asking me to send more information. [Customer Service] LOUSY. Did not contact their officers within the said period of 48h, had to email and call them multiple times every week just for a response. [Terms and Conditions] LOUSY. Did not state that I had to seek medical treatment overseas before coming back to Singapore. Made me go one whole round just to tell me I couldn't claim.0

Very very Bad experience. Take their own sweet time to ask questions and did not do thorough checks for claims. Take months and have not settle yet. Staff only try to use dates and contract unclaimable conditions to close case. In my view is not professional at all. Not recommended0

Have traveled to almost 60 countries over the last 10 years. Initial years, I always goes for the cheapest (whomever insurer eg. Company M, Company N etc..) until probably 4 years back when I chance upon HLAS, I have been a loyal customer ever since. Except for once when I’m uncertain of they covers Cuba therefore I went with Company G. From pricing to purchasing, everything is really fuss free and no frills. However, unfortunately for my cases with HLAS, I seems to be a loss making customer for them. As I always encountered with delayed baggages. Which resulted them in paying out to me (lose making business for me). Sorry HLAS, I don’t wish to have my baggage delayed for 2-3 times either. But overall for the benefit of the future potential consumer, it’s worth considering HLAS travel insurance. Reason is simple. Pricing + easy to purchase + often with huge discount (sometimes up to 55%-60%). Although other insurers headline publishes the same percentages discount, but works out that HLAS is still better in terms of pricing. Plus the final fact that claiming is fuss free. Worth exploring fellow travellers!0

Be warned if you wanted to buy HL annual travel plan. Their plan is automatically renewed without prior notice after first year and there is no such information clearly mentioned on the online sign up page. The auto renewal clause is hidden in the fine print contract that nobody read. If you have no plan to join HL continuously my advice is to stay away!!! MSIG, Allianz did not have such annual policy auto renewal practice - in which I used them before.0

Almost 3 months and the customer service officer just emailed me to ask what is it I am claiming for, despite all the documentation I given. Also in the invoive/receipt from Germany I am claiming the amount written in Euro and she said it's SGD!0
