Hong Leong Travel Protect Basic Plan
Have traveled to almost 60 countries over the last 10 years. Initial years, I always goes for the cheapest (whomever insurer eg. Company M, Company N etc..) until probably 4 years back when I chance upon HLAS, I have been a loyal customer ever since. Except for once when I’m uncertain of they covers Cuba therefore I went with Company G. From pricing to purchasing, everything is really fuss free and no frills. However, unfortunately for my cases with HLAS, I seems to be a loss making customer for them. As I always encountered with delayed baggages. Which resulted them in paying out to me (lose making business for me). Sorry HLAS, I don’t wish to have my baggage delayed for 2-3 times either. But overall for the benefit of the future potential consumer, it’s worth considering HLAS travel insurance. Reason is simple. Pricing + easy to purchase + often with huge discount (sometimes up to 55%-60%). Although other insurers headline publishes the same percentages discount, but works out that HLAS is still better in terms of pricing. Plus the final fact that claiming is fuss free. Worth exploring fellow travellers!

Brought from HL a few years back and had to claim for overseas hospitalization. Staff was helpful and process was easy! Remember that the reimbursement came quickly, within 2 weeks. Would definitely recommend if the price difference from other plans isn't that huge.

Just would like to emphasize on the importance of Travel insurance especially when you've spent thousands on tour packages. In light of the most recent case, konsortium closing down, many were affected and many could have covered the unexpected loss with comprehensive coverage travel insurance. Also remember to know what you're being covered when you buy. (:

4 stars because i've bought it with ease and great price. online platform seems very straightforward, and you can see them literally everywhere in the social media. the best part, i get to reserve the Changi WiFi toggle for the first time! buying HL travel insurance definitely gives me the advantage in booking 1. the missing 1 star because i have not claimed before to truly say that this is an EXCELLENT product. TBC

[Claims Process] Super long claim process (about 4+ months) and had to keep email-ing them to check for updates. [Purchase Process] Easy to purchase, just need to apply online. Price was great also esp when they have 60% discounts. Bought the enhanced plan for about $20 i think (can't really remember the price) and claimed close to $70 for an ear infection I had gotten during my Japan trip. [Overall] Cheap travel insurance plan but be prepared to wait for super long for the claims to be processed.

Bought Hong Leong travel insurance once it was the cheapest travel insurance listed on Gobear at that point of time. Did not have to claim anything (fortunately!) but i wouldn't mind getting travel insurance from them again.

If you read the fine print, there are a lot of exclusions that cannot be claimed. Compared to other insurances, it is definitely cheaper but at same time you are exposed to more risks of not getting any money after incident. I personally will not recommend this plan after trying last year. After a 8 h flight delay and 23 h baggage delay, I was not able to claim a single cent due to the amount of criteria to satisfy in their fine print.
