Thinking of a mid career switch after 9 years in the engineering field but unsure about my options?

I'm currently in my early 30s, am considering a career switch after 9 years in the engineering field. Thinking of a few options whether to do FT degree or secure a job and do PT degree instead. Or simply just opt for short duration skills upgrading courses with my skills future credit.

Also considering a switch in career path, but unsure of what field should I venture into. How can I better decide, or what are the factors that may be used to help me plan ahead for this?
