How about surgery to remove polyps that requires hospitalisation - consider as day surgery under coverage of ISP?

Hi Anon,

If you do have a day surgery and the claim is successful, then I do believe you can submit to the insurer to see if the additional screening can be claimed as pre-hospitalisation up to your policy's limits.

It depends on the terms specified by the plan. Generally, different plans (from different insurer) may have different scope of coverage.

For pre-hospitalisation, the insured requires confinement to undergo treatment due to an illness or injury. Thereupon, the eligible expenses for pre-hospitalisation treatment will be covered (to up to specified limit).

For surgical procedures, most integrated shield plan will provide such coverage so long as the insured is confined. Such plans usually include day surgery as well.

If you have detail on the exact plan, then we will be able to give you a more factual answer. This is because the above is merely a generic answer which may or may not be right, depending on the actual plan itself.
