Currently, there are three insurers (Aviva, Great Eastern, and NTUC Income) that will offer optional add-on supplements to the basic CareShield Life plan. While it is unlikely that the upgrade ould provide coverage for pre-existing conditions, you can check out the products when they are launched.
Do sign up for our CareShield priority list and we'll contact you once the CareShield Life add-ons are ready.โโโ

Hi anon,
Yes, definitely good to plan ahead, as we can only get older and not any younger. As with any insurance involving health, you will be requried to declare your health status when you apply for a supplement plan with a private insurer.
However, take note that not all pre-existing medical conditions will lead to an exclusion or a decline, depending on the specifics of the case.
For example, pre-diabetes is an immediate decline for Eldershield supplement upgrade plans. But I have many clients who have slightly elevated cholesterol and are still at standard rates. So it depends on what your condition is.
