Saving Hacks

I'm almost 28yrs old but I didn't save any money at all.

How can I manage my salary if I intend to save money? What skills or jobs can I learn and work to earn extra income the fastest way?

I prefer no f&b, tuition and driver pt job. I'm working as a full-time admin taking home pay of $1400/mth, and studying part-time diploma. Currently highest education level is O level.

I think you can start by budgeting your money. This includes planning how much money you would be spending on food, transportation… and on savings! Afterwards is the hard part, sticking to your budget. You can read this article to read more on how to create a budget that you can stick to. I personally would also use a finance tracker app, it’s called Planner Bee. You can check it out here if you want. They have the budget feature that I use to see how much I have already spent relative to my budget.

To earn extra income, you can try to find other free-lance jobs that are related to the diploma you are pursuing. Which can also help to boost your resume for the future.

Theres a popular method nowadays known as notes stashing; where you withdraw your salary in notes and aallocate it accordingy to several categories; like food, transport, savings etc

The best way to start is by creating a budget for yourself. Take time to calculate your monthly expenses and determine how much you can reasonably put aside each month. To help you stay on track, consider setting up automated transfers from your checking account to your savings account. That way, you won't have to worry about manually transferring money each month and it will help you build healthy financial habits.

If you want to save even more, considering finding ways to earn extra income. You could search for freelance jobs online or look for part-time gigs in your area. Or, if you prefer something more consistent, think about taking on a second job or going back to school to learn new skills or pursue a higher-paying career.

No matter what route you choose, saving money doesn't have to be a struggle. With careful planning and dedication, you can start managing your salary and building your savings in no time.

The list goes on on how to save money:

  1. Leverage on transport discount (but compromises on sleep)...
