Try out classes at Community Centres first. If your kid really takes to it, then "upgrade" to those "premium" ones offered by established brands.

Be very disciplined. Those U-Save vouchers we get to offset utilities bills every quarter? Channel them to the kid's enrichment fund.

ask your child to use part of his hongbao money and/or pocket money to offset the cost of the course. It won't be much but hey, he is taking ownership of his choices

join the national health steps challenge. I can get $10 ntuc voucher about once a month. That $10 I save can be channeled to the enrichment fund.

Typically, I'll choose the cheaper option first because if it works well, then there is no need to 'upgrade'. it's good to expose to them so that they know what they like/ don't like. each kid is also different - 1 may like music while 1 like art so i think it's ok to 'not be fair' and make sure both goes for the same classes.
