I am 33, married and no plans to have kids. Was planning to get life + CI + ECI but premiums are high due to my hereditary hypertension. Any advice?

Yes for all stages of CI cover. Especially since you won't have someone to help you with your assets, having the instant liquidity of cash payout from insurance should you fall ill when you're old will help.
For your health concern, I'd suggest doing a preliminary underwriting with every insurer, and see who gives you the best rates. But even if you get loaded (pay extra premiums) it juat means you have a higher chance to claim than your peers. So take it and consider buying a little more as it might not get any better if you want to buy more in the future.
