Am a current user. can provide referral code but believe it takes a couple months just FYI. interested, let me know.

its with-holding so it deducts without you doing anything when you declare the W8-BEN form. basically most people will just do growth stocks in US to avoid the 30%.

They are o.k., no U.S. equity trading fees, very reliable,

tax disadvantage you must calculate by yourself,

dependent on probable annual dividend yields.

example

S&P500 ETF (1.8 % p.a. dividend yield), invested 20000 USD, different broker fees not considered.

U.S. domiciled ETF:

20000 USD x 1.8/100 = dividend 360 USD minus 30% tax

= 252 USD

Ireland domiciled ETF (USD denominated):

20000 USD x 1.8/100 = dividend 360 USD minus 15% tax

= 306 USD

tax difference = 54.00 USD for a 20000 USD investment with 1.8% yield
