Hi I am planning to invest with initial Sum of $1000 be it usd / sgd .
Came across these stocks
Exxon Mobil (XOM)
Vanguard (VOO)
GameStop (GME)
Apple (AAPL)
Lion Philip (CLR)
SGX (S68)
First REIT (AW9U)
Opinion on this ? Looking to invest for long term holding. Appreciate if can suggest more .

Hi Anon,
If you're just starting to invest, I'd suggest you go with a broad based index fund. Among the list, VOO fits into that, and is honestly the best in the list. The rest are individual stocks, so the risk is definitely higher.
Affordable is relative, but I think VOO is going to be a good investment to make in the long run. Personally, I think you should only focus on investing in ETFs like VOO first while still learning more about individual stocks. Then when you've learnt enough and have more capital, you can try stockpicking.
