I bought this insurance in 2019 for my mum who has high blood pressure. The one standout point of Raffles Medical is that they are willing to take in those who might be rejected or not wholly insured by other insurers due to underlying conditions like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease. However, she wasn’t available to be covered anyway due to being on thyroid medication. So she’s being insured with exclusions. Which does not make Raffles Medical any different from other insurers. (Insurer P also did not want to cover her existing condition of thyroid and high blood pressure.) Previously, Raffles Medical quoted us a 50% increase in premiums just to cover her high blood pressure. (This was before the declaration of thyroid medication, which increases risk.) So you can be covered with a single underlying condition, just pay more. If you have 2 or more underlying conditions, try your luck. My advisor was alright. Quite responsive. By then I was sick of comparing across insurers, so I signed with Raffles. One more thing I liked about Raffles in my research was that they had a “halfway” option for those who want Private insurance but didn’t want the high price tag that comes along with it. Take the Raffles + Government Ward A plan. Best combo. When you’re sick, you can stay in government ward A or below, OR go to Raffles hospital. Best of both worlds. One more thing- In June 2019 or so, I left my contact on their website to sign up for insurance. They didn’t get back to us for about 1-2 months because of a website error which didn’t alert them to new leads. Since then, they have upgraded their website, so.... They might not have best tech or come up with their own integrated app anytime soon. Take that as you will. They may seem abit “green” at this whole insurance thing, perhaps? Haven’t tried claiming, here’s hoping I won’t have to. Moral of the story: Get insured while you’re healthy. Raffles has one of the most competitive rates around. For now. In future, who knows? So don’t just compare using premiums. [Customer Service] [Agent Responsiveness] [Additional Premium] [Insurance Coverage]

My agent is very helpful and occasionally will text me about financial or health planning. There is also a lot of giveaways. The insurance itself is reliable, they are open to many questions and feel free to ask anything. They will not hard sell you. This is the only insurance connected to a health provider.
