DBS Visa Debit Card Review 2021

The DBS Visa Debit Card gives you up to 3% cashback when you spend a minimum of S$500 and keep your cash withdrawals to S$400 and below in the same month.

Here are the categories which you can clock up to 3% cashback:

  • Online food delivery: 3% cashback
  • Local transport (ride hailing, taxi, transit): 3% cashback
  • All foreign currency spend (including online purchase): 2% cashback
  • Local contactless spend: 1% cashback

Best of all, almost anyone can qualify for this debit card. There's no need for a minimum income to qualify and there's no annual fee either.

So if you don't qualify for a credit card (read: student) yet, this is probably one of the best debit cards which you can get!

A good debit card for students! Have been using this as an alternative to PAssion card, and I find that it has pretty good benefits

Terms & Conditions for Applying for a DBS Visa Debit Card

      • Need to have: POSB Savings Account or DSB Savings Plus Account or DBS Autosave Account or DBS Current Account
      • NETs Daily Transaction Limit: S$5,000

Features & Benefits of DBS Visa Debit Card

The coolest thing about the DBS Visa Debit card is that you can still earn up to 3% cashback when you spend on everyday necessities like online food delivery, local transport, local Visa contactless spend... and the occasional online purchase in foreign currency.

      • 3% cashback on online food delivery
      • 3% cashback on local transport (ride-hailing, taxis, public transport via SimplyGO)
      • 2% cashback on all foreign currency spend (including online purchase)
      • 1% cashback on local contactless spend (via Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Google Pay, Visa PayWave)

      There's one small catch though.

You need to spend at least S$500 a month and have to make sure that your POSB/DBS cash withdrawals are $400 and below in the same month.

But if you plan your budget carefully and track it to a T, this shouldn't be an issue!

Overall, the amount of cashback you can get is capped at S$20 per month.
