      AMEX Platinum Card

Think personally it's a great card to begin with, although the annual fee is high. in terms of benefits, they do offer pretty good benefits such as hotel stays, lounges across several airports, dining, netflix cashback, etc. i've occasionally gotten emails from amex offering me vouchers for hotels and what not. collecting the points is about 2 points/S$1.60 (same as Gold Card), which can be used to either offset payments or use it to redeem airmiles, or offset Apple Singapore products. as for the concierge services i'd say they're responsive and will provide solutions or alternatives. but of course, unless you're travelling a lot for work or leisure, the Gold Card is a pretty good alternative

In terms of the value proposition very much YMMV situation. In terms of benefits I find it mediocre. Basically you are getting some decent travel insurance and unlimited lounge access. The Amex SG concierge service personnel are the most incompetent I have ever experienced in any country. Truly unbelieving how useless they are. (Especially as my experience with Amex concierge services in other countries has been generally very good) The value proposition seems to be more about using the card as a coupon book. Making full use of the statement credits, vouchers, and love dining. Personally I find that a very cheap experience and when I go out I want to be looking at where is the best restaurant/cafe/bar I want to go to, not going to the Amex site and trying to find the options I can use a coupon at or get love dining discount and end up going to a worse option just so I can get a discount. Essentially the card now just feels an expensive coupon book. If you like the to spend your time trying to maximise discounts and coupon savings at restaurants etc then could be good for you.

I feel this card is not worth and expensive, need to spend 2k a month, and pay 1k plus to get its benefit. Advise to get amex ascend card at 340. Cheaper.

[Hidden Terms] The card used to be good but it's a big waste of money now. ALL $1200 statement credits are worthless. I do not appreciate how every single benefit of this card is now fake. Airline Credit: The flights can nearly aways be purchased more cheaply with 3rd party sites/promos. No flights to Singapore are covered, so even though I took 30 flights in the last year, I did not even come close to meeting the minimum spend. Spa Credit: The listed SPAs already have promos that will allow you to enjoy lower prices anyway, and you can get very good spa experience in Singapore in other places even more cheaply. Entertainment: If you earn enough to own this card you probably prefer better taste in entertainment than Netflix. Dining: half the restaurants listed already offer 50% discount to everyone without this card. There are a few good ones and we dine a lot so this is the only reason I did not dump this card earlier. Lounges: the priority pass is a decent value, but you can buy it independently if you travel a lot. All the other lounge access is useless. Delta lounge access requires you to have higher class tickets to use, so it's disingenuous to list that as a benefit. Hotel stay and other coupons: All the best hotels have been removed from the list of complementary stays. They went from offering a night at Ritz Carlton and Fullerton Bay which go for 800 sgd per night to Cassia Phuket which sometimes lists for 80 sgd per night. Tower Club: It's a group of restaurants. You still need to pay and you cannot just lounge there like in a club. The super annoying part is that you can't book it online. You need to call in, answer security questions and wait for callback if you want to just have a quick visit.. They used to offer 100sgd dining coupon but no more. Fashion credit: Limited to 75 sgd per purchase. Sadly a lot of this gets eaten up by the cost of shipping fee as nearly all products come from Europe via air mail.
