Where to make cheap spectacles for progressive lens?

My dad needs a new pair of spectacles but was quoted prices of about $400 to $600 for progressive lenses. Is there anywhere that makes them cheaper?

This sounds pretty familiar because that is also the price range my parents pay for their progressive lenses. Just a word of caution, I wouldn't scrimp on my eyesight as I heard from a friend before who made hers online claiming they have the latest technology for the best price and she experienced discomfort and headaches often after receiving her glasses. Hope you find a reliable yet reasonably priced spectacle shop! :)
