Where do you find your Insurance Agent from?

Actually, surprisingly, I am my own first financial advisor! I did not know much about insurance, but it was through the fact that my family went through a bad period and when people started asking me about insurance payouts, I realized we didn't have any and thus decided to join the industry to make sure that people do not have to go through what I have gone through. This led me to make sure that I plan for not just my risks, which includes insurance but also making sure I have good personal money management so that when it comes to others, I am able to plan for them as I plan for myself!

I met my insurance agent at Bugis MRT when they were doing roadshow there.

I just upgrade my medishield to private during that time. Fast forward today, all my insurance policies and endowment plan are purchased through her.

My first agent is from a roadshow. I was young, going to NS and believe everything the aunty said. However, it turn out to be bad advices and she is more concerned about me signing up any plans with her rather than what I really need.

My second and long term agent is my friend of >10 years. Decided to get from a friend who have been a agent for a few years and know his stuffs and someone I can trust.

My insurance agent is actually my mum's friend (who also happens to be my neighbour)'s daughter! Sounds complicated but it actually works in my favour, because she really can't "run away" if I need to check on my plans.

I actively avoid friends who want to meet me for a "catch-up/coffee/meals" with the objective of helping me achieve my finanicial goals as I have heard enough horror stories from my peers!
