What makes a good insurance agent?

What is a good example of a good agent? How to choose a good agent who is knowledgeable and provides good customer service? My current Pru agent is unresponsive. I didn't expect much from her, answering my questions is the bare minimum she can do, yet she fails to do that.

Currently finding a good agent to manage my Prudential policies and might be keen to do a portfolio review on my current policies too with Pru or other companies.

Any recommendations?

There are many factors you might be looking at in a good agent

  1. responsive

  2. knowledgeable

  3. service-oriented/customer-oriented

  4. ethnical and honesty

  5. good camaraderie with the agent

It also does not stop you from having a few agents working for you as each might have their own speciality. Some might be good at insurance, some might be good in the investment area.

There is no answer for you.

Agents are not legally obligated to service you. Their role is just to sell insurance products.

Whether they answer your questions or provide customer service is totally up to them, beyond your control.

Best to take charge of your insurance plans and learn how to DIY your claims.
