What are some of the common SQ flights that help me earn more miles? And does that mean I will have to keep checking with Singapore Airlines before booking my flights?

Read that I can only earn higher miles on selected SQ flights, and not all of them.

Hi anon,

While not so common in Singapore, SQ does have occasional promotions which award bonus KF miles on the flights flown.

For example, they recently ran one for KF members in Thailand:

https://www.singaporeair.com/en_UK/th/plan-travel/local-promotions/receive-bonus-miles/

If one does happen for you in Singapore (assuming you are based here), then you will probably want to keep a copy of the promo T&Cs and check the crediting after you have flown the relevant flight. Any disputes can then be raised with them, especially if you have proof of the promotion T&Cs.

Depends on the fare class

u dont need to keep checking, it'd be indicated in the fare class T&Cs before u book

Higher miles are only applicable to promotional flights. You will have to check their promotion before you do any booking.

All SQ flights earn miles and at the same rate (subject to occassional miles bonus campaigns run by SIA - observation such campaigns do not have specific category/destination/time). it is up to which flight you take more often

That really depends on the subclass that you are buying.

you can refer to this chart: https://www.singaporeair.com/saar5/pdf/ppsclub_krisflyer/charts/KFOALLevels.pdf

If you're booking online, be it direct from SQ website or through 3rd party agencies (some has partnerships which allow you to earn more miles on your credit card), the algorithm will always choose the cheapest subclass available. Hence read the fare rules properly before you commit.

if not sure, call the agent to verify

If you are talking about this promo,

Earn additional 50% KrisFlyer miles when you fly with Singapore Airlines on Business Class to Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt, London, Munich, Zurich, Newark or San Francisco. Valid for bookings on Business Flexi fare only. Simply login to book online or via a Singapore Airlines appointed travel agent.

Here’s an example of how many miles you can earn, based on a return trip to London on Business Flexi fare: KrisFlyer miles earned – 20,284 miles 50% bonus KrisFlyer miles – 10,142 miles Total KrisFlyer miles earned – 30,426 miles.

Promotion is valid for bookings made from now to 31 March 2020 on Singapore Airlines Business Flexi fare (Z,C,J booking class) for flights to Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt, London, Munich, Zurich, Newark and San Francisco. Tier bonus is excluded from the calculation of 50% bonus KrisFlyer miles. KrisFlyer membership number must be entered at the point of booking. Applicable for bookings via singaporeair.com and Singapore Airlines appointed travel agents. KrisFlyer terms and conditions apply.

I don't think there is a need to keep checking to see if the flights are eligible for bonus miles.
