I know it has a MAS license now but i previously heard stories that there is a chance it will close down? What will happen to the invested money if it does shut down somewhere down the road?

This is something new as I never heard of TigerBrokers. I would suggest you to email the firm and share with them your concern about those money being not able to get should the firm decides to close down one day. There are actually plenty of brokers out there who have been operating for many years, and you might want to do some of your own research.
