Hello there!
I was as lost as you when I first applied for mine. Here is some information to help you.
Firstly, determine the purchase price of your property. Then calculate the stamp duty, conveyancing fee based on the purchase price. For this purpose, I have an excel sheet that does it for me.
Stamp Duty
First $180k @ 1%
Next $180k @ 2%
Next $640k @ 4%
Remainder @ 4%
Conveyancing Fee
First $30k @ $0.90 per $1k
Next $30k @ $0.72 per $1k
Remainder @ $0.60 per $1k
Secondly, the following four fees are payable at the time of collection of key.
Lease In-Escrow Registration Fee: $38.30
Mortgage In-Escrow Registration Fee: $38.30
Stamp Duty on Deed of Assignment: $500
Survey Fee: $347.75
Next, determine the upfront downpayment that you need to pay, e.g. 10% downpayment (depending on loan)
Finally, this calculator by HDB will be able to help you calculate the monthly instalment: https://services2.hdb.gov.sg/webapp/BB29MTHLY/B...
Personally, I do up an excel sheet that is capable of calculating everything, including my instalment and outstanding loan in the future. So it may be helpful for your learning and future reference to have your own table. =)
