Hospitalisation Insurance (H&S)
AIA HealthShield Gold Max Health Insurance
Asked on 01 Jul 2020
Based on my policy booklet, I have 100% coverage for ward B1 and below and pro ration for ward A and above. But I am confused because my agent explain that it include ward A and private hospital ,just that for non AIA doctor panel need co pay 3.5k. Actually I have change to AXA shield plan A ,because from my understanding is that my standard AIA plan don't fully cover ward A and private hospital. If my objective is to get more coverage at lower cost, is it a right move to switch to AXA shield plan A?
It will be good to know the full details of your plan in order to give you the right advice. Generally for AIA HealthShield Gold Max Standard Plan, it provides coverage for B1 ward and below in government hopsitals, subjected to the individual claim limits.
Generally, there is no way to get more coverage but reduce the cost. Therefore, you may wish to readjust your priority or speak with your agent to do a comprehensive financial planning. He will be in the best position to advise on whether it makes sense to do the switch.

Hi there. The Goldmax standard plan does not cover 100% of your hospital bills, and it will not cover for Private hospital stays. It will only cover a portion of stays in Government hospitals. You will need to upgrade your hospitalisation plan if you wish to enjoy a much better coverage in Govt or Private hospitals.
