How to start saving at age 17?

Personally what i do:
Dont drink starbucks/atas drinks.
Eat more hawker food than restaurants.
Make a monthly budget.
Losing weight=must eat less=spend less on food which is also the main expenses.
Dont have girlfriend (i wish i had one though😢).

When i was 17, i went to the dbs atm and pressed a few buttons to move $1k to fixed deposit. After that, started part time job while waiting for uni, did the same thing every few months. After a while, it became a habit.
