I did a basic reno. Cost me about $30k. Be prepared to increase it by 10k or 20k if you have a theme and want false ceiling, wall in wardrobe, etc. Consider taking a renovation loan to cover this if you do not have much cash.
As for furniture and fittings, it cost me another $40k. Bulk of it is paid over a 24 month credit card installment. On a side note, do also consider getting extended warranty for your TV. TV also seems to breakdown after their standard warranty period.

I budget around $60k and will intend to build up this amount via savings (no loan)....
