For partial filled stock order, how do I get charged for commission fee? Will I get charged more than once if the order is incomplete or filled few times?

If my order is set to GTD, and it is filled partially over few days, how is the commission fee charged? Based on the number of days the order filled or?

Is unfilled order common? It usually happen to what vol?

If stock get filled partiially and I went to modify price in order to get more stocks filled, considered 1 order or more than 1? Im using scb

    Hi anon,

This depends on the brokerage and market.

Say, you entered a order for 10000 shares with GTD (let's disregard the country first)

Today, you filled 1000, then 5000

Tomorrow, you filled the remaining 4000

If your order is partially filled, you will get charged at the end of the day, provided there is market amalgation. E.g. SG market. So you get charged twice. End of day 1 and day 2.

But if your order is partially filled and the market doesn't have amalgation, you get charged 3 times. Twice on day 1 (once for each order) and another on day 2.

If your order fills partially, and the system allows you to modify your order, then go ahead. If not, you'll have to withdrawal the order entirely, and then re-key.

Unfilled stocks do occur, especially when volume is low (i.e. illiquid shares)

Yes, you will be charged more than once. Happens for me on SCB trading platform. I never experienced partially filled orders with TD so can't advise.
