Are public servants allowed to have a side income?

I am a software engineer in one of the stats board and I'm thinking of seeking additional income? Something in the ballpark of affiliate marketing using a blog or writing on a platform such as Medium. Has anyone done similar stuff while in the gov sector?

By right, you need to declare if have a blog that generates income and etc.

Only side income you can have without declaration would be from investment via stock. Having investment property also need to declare if I remember correctly.

Might not be most updated info.

By right is no.

But in the army there is a say, do but don't get caught. It is up to you if you want to take a risk.
