Looking to buy an AIA whole life insurance policy. I have several friends and acquaintances working in AIA. Will the quote and premiums be different among different agents assuming other conditions stay the same? Should I request a quote for the same life policy from multiple agents for the cheapest price? Age 26, M, good health history.

Hi Anon,
If it's from the same insurer and it's the same product, the premiums shouldn't be different among agents. If there are variances, it could most likely be due to the adding and removing of certain riders, like a premium waiver in the event of critical illness or disability.
In regards to investment returns on cash value, I think life insurance products have changed in the last few years. Previously life insurance was sold to clients as a policy that has good investment returns in the later part of the insured's life. But as of now if you do look at the Policy Illustration, the returns might not be as fantastic, as life insurance is intended to cover for the whole of your life in the event something does happen.
If you are looking at getting good investment returns, I would suggest getting 2 policies, 1 life that is focused on protecting your life, from death, TPD, CI & Early CI. Then get a wealth accumulation policy so that upon maturity you have a lump sum available to you.

No difference at all.
Within the same company, your NRIC goes through the same underwriting team.
A good consultant can potentially negotiate for better terms in the event you have a condition that is disclosed.
