Why there is a difference in maximum drawdown when Syfe Cash+ and Stashaway SImple invest in the same underlying funds?

I have just received this email from Syfe and am curious about your opinion.

Hi

ā€‹

Just came across this. Looks like there are many cash management portfolio questions around Seedly.

ā€‹

I actually wondered about this before. I started off with StashAway Simple when they first launched in 2018/2019 and they were the first cash management solution out there that I came across post working for 2 years. So I put my money there.

ā€‹

I checked in with their support before and I believe the maximum drawdown is based on the drawdown the portfolio has undergone inception. So it's likely that although StashAway Simple and Syfe have the same funds because StashAway Simple existed longer and undewent some stress test like the COVID crash, the max drawdown of -0.04% was based from that kind of scenario?

ā€‹

I would think its best to message their support on WhatsApp for all Syfe, Endowus and StashAway and put the question to them. We should know the answer clearly.

ā€‹

For now, StashAway simple has yet to disappoint me. Its in positives and has been getting my cash reserves. So far so good so I'm happy for now.
