Why not consider DIY if you're just looking for S&P500?
A low cost index fund like VOO (CPSX for LSE) will only charge 0.03% (0.07%) in expense ratio to hold, with the only other charges being comms.
With so many low cost options out there now, there's plenty of ways to get into it. My pick for starters is Tiger Brokers:
Low comms
No platform fee
Decent FX
Fast approval
