I am looking to buy a 3rm resale HDB flat as a single and there is a budget limit. My friend and a relative gave me 2 contacts (based on their good experience). However, both of these agents appear more inclined to promote condos, despite my clear preference for an HDB flat. Unfortunately, the experience was not really nice as their responsiveness seems to have dwindled. I don't blame them as I guess they would prefer customers that brings in higher commission through sale of condos.

Where else can I source a reliable property agent? At least someone who is genuine and understands my needs and budget constraints. I'm tempted to reach out to agents whose flyers I've received, but I'm uncertain about it.

I completely understand the frustration you're going through. The quest for a reliable property agent who truly comprehends your needs and budget constraints can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack, especially in a market where the preference for higher commission sales tends to overshadow genuine assistance.
I've encountered many individuals facing similar challenges in my line of work, and I want you to know that your concerns are valid. The desire for an HDB flat, tailored to your preferences and budget, is not only reasonable but also crucial for a secure investment.
Allow me to share a recent case study to illuminate how a tailored approach can make all the difference. One of my clients, faced with a similar situation, was also disheartened by agents pushing them towards condos despite their clear preference for an HDB flat. We worked closely to understand their needs, financial constraints, and lifestyle preferences. Through meticulous research and personalized guidance, we found the ideal property that fit their criteria perfectly. This client not only got the home they desired but also experienced a stress-free, smooth process, showcasing the power of understanding individual needs.
There's a common myth that all property agents prioritize higher commission sales over client satisfaction. While it's true that some agents may lean that way, many of us genuinely care about finding you the right home within your budget. It's about understanding your needs and preferences, not just pushing for a sale.
My suggestion would be to consider reaching out to agents whose flyers you've received. However, before you do, ask them questions. Challenge them to understand your needs, not just pitch a property. Look for signs of genuine interest and willingness to customize their approach based on your requirements. Don't hesitate to ask for client testimonials or case studies to gauge their past successes.
Remember, your journey to finding the perfect home should be exciting, not exasperating. It's not just about purchasing a property; it's about investing in your future, and you deserve an agent who values your aspirations.
