My take: Bonds, as well as Mutual Funds (Unit Trusts) are things to avoid.

This is not a good investing idea, because: it has (up to) 3.5% sales charge,

a relative high annual fee of 0.75% and it underperforms it's own index (see chart

in the link).

Hi Bill, Fidelity Asian Bond Fund is currnetly not one of the funds in our portfolio. If we have any funds onboarded on the Endowus platform, then we do full fund manager due diligence and fund due diligence to make sure it is suitable for our clients and is best in class. We also get access to institutional share class or pre-negotiate a large trailer fee that we 100% rebate back to the customer. We have no sales charges, other upfront charges, no brokerage, trasnaction charges. Just a simple all-in flat fee for the Endowus service and a transparent and lowest possible fee without trailer fees for the funds we use. Other fund platforms like iFast FSM and Dollardex or POEMS and all other distributors like banks/brokers all make money from the trailer fees which is around half of the fund level fees or more and that is how they make money. We feel this is wrong and have removed it completely.
