What is the cost of cancelling my BOC Zaobao Credit card?

I have been holding on to this card for about 1+years now but it has yet to give me worthy rewards. Are there costs to cancelling? Is there any reason I should still be using this CC?

Hey Anon!

Did some research online and it doesn't seem that there is a termination fee for the BOC Zaobao Credit Card. However, do note that:

BOC Bonus Points accumulated but not utilised will be automatically forfeited, cancelled and shall become null and void upon upon the termination of the Card or Card Account.
All unused cash rebate will be forfeited on BOC’s receipt of a Cardmember’s request to terminate his/her Card.

As to whether you should cancel this card or not really depends on your needs for the CC. The BOC Zaobao Credit Card mainly caters for savings on petrol transactions, Zaobao and SPH newspaper subscriptions. If you are not looking for such savings and are considering other options of cashback or miles, I would say there are better options out there for you to consider.
