What happens to the policies and death payouts if left unclaimed?

Policyholder bought some insurance policies, passed away but none of the family members knows what policies bought. The policyholder is single with no children, parents are no longer around but have 2 siblings. Did not make any will. Does this mean it will be absorbed by the insurance companies? Thank you in advance.
