You would be required to inform your insurers as soon as possible as the occupation's risk is a factor that affects your eligibility and premium amount for Personal Accident (PA) insurance.

For PA plans, insurers classified all occupations into four risk classes. The higher-class tier you are, the higher your risk of injury or accidents, and therefore your premiums would be higher. Do get in touch with us if you require assistance with this.​​​

You'll need to re-declare this to the insurer as your job classification (and probably salary) has changed. They'll re-assess you and let you know the outcome.

A receptionist earning $3K is at a far lower risk than a labourer working at height and earning the same base pay (if the labourer can even get DI in the first place). In that same vein, being a nurse is also a far more specialised job than a typical office worker.
