I received a reply from a platform. Basically their comments are:
a) Nikko AM ARK Disruptive Innovation Fund is actively managed by Nikko Asset Management and ARK investment is their Investment Advisor. So the weightage/securities are not exactly the same, between Nikko Fund and ARKK ETF.
b) Nikko Fund versus ARKK ETF may be bounded by different regulations. For example with regard to max % allocation to a stock, restriction to invest in cyypto etc.
c) ARKK can be traded intraday (processing fee of 0.08% per trade and via USD) but the Nikko AM ARK Disruptive Innovation Fund can be transacted once a day (no processing fee but platform fee if 0.0875% per quarter and can be invested via SGD or USD).
I am wondering myself on which one to invest. Any comments are welcome. My current thoughts are:
1) I am not sure about the reputation of Nikko. If there is a risk that the key person in ARK decides to leave (ref previous problem in Nov 2020) or ARK decides to take on risker positions that I am not comfortable with - should I go with Nikko Fund for better risk management?
2) How quickly will Nikko re-balance the portfolio of Nikko Fund, as compared to ARK with ARKK?
3) If I go direct - I can consider alternatives like ARKQ, ARKW, ARKG or ARKF.
4) For long term investment β which cost is higher?
