Trust Bank Eligibility & Income Requirements 2026 — Who Actually Qualifies (Referral Code 2GG9T8K3)

Keep seeing people ask "can I even apply" in the comments of other Trust threads here without a clear answer, and a couple of the eligibility numbers going around are from before this year's changes, so wanted to lay out where things actually stand before you go through the referral code steps.

Age and residency requirements:

  1. You need to be at least 21 years old for a Trust credit card. The savings account and linked debit card have a lower bar and don't carry an income requirement at all, since there's no credit line attached to a debit card.
  2. Singapore citizens and PRs, and foreigners holding a valid work pass (Employment Pass, S Pass, or Work Permit), can all apply for the credit card. Tourists or short-term visitors can't.
  3. Singaporeans and PRs can usually apply through Singpass MyInfo and get through the whole thing in a few minutes. Foreigners need to manually upload income documents, which takes longer.

Income requirements, since this is where most confusion is:

  1. Singapore citizens/PRs aged 21 to 55: S$30,000 a year.
  2. Singapore citizens/PRs aged 56 and above: S$15,000 a year — noticeably lower, which some older posts don't mention.
  3. Foreigners with a valid work pass: S$60,000 a year, regardless of age.
  4. Required documents for foreigners typically include a passport copy, the latest computerised payslip, and proof of the work pass itself.

If your income sits below these thresholds, the savings account and debit card are still fully open to you — you just won't get approved for the credit card until your income clears the bar.

A couple of things that changed in 2026 that older threads haven't caught up on:

  1. Cash advance terms tightened from 1 Feb 2026 — a card replacement fee waiver and a no-cash-advance-fee perk that used to be part of the card's pitch no longer apply the same way, so don't rely on year-old comparison posts for the exact fee structure.
  2. Free unlimited overseas ATM withdrawals on the credit card got scaled back around mid-2026 in some reporting — worth checking the current terms in-app rather than assuming the "unlimited" language from last year's reviews still holds exactly as written.
  3. Interest on unpaid balances moved from a flat rate to a personalised rate between roughly 18.9% and 29.9% p.a. from 1 July 2026, reviewed every six months — reinforces the usual advice to just pay in full monthly, since carrying a balance now has more variable downside than before.

Where the referral code fits into eligibility: none of the above changes how the referral reward works — you still need to be genuinely new to Trust (no existing or previously cancelled account) regardless of which product you're eligible for. If you clear the credit card income bar, signing up with code 2GG9T8K3 at the very first "Get Started" screen gets you a sure-win Golden Scratch Card guaranteed between S$50 and S$8,000 cashback. If you don't clear it yet, the savings account route still qualifies you (and me, as referrer) for a scratch card worth S$8 to S$1,888 — so the income requirement blocks the credit card specifically, not the referral reward as a whole.

Worth double-checking your own numbers against this before you go through the application, since a rejected credit card application doesn't retroactively unlock the savings-account reward — you'd need to restart with the savings account application separately (and the code still has to have been entered at first launch either way).
