Yes diversification is not a bad idea.

I would allocate 3% tops to gold since it generally doesn't yield dividend.

Yes, I have always wanted to try out the Hugo app (https://www.hugosave.com) for fun. Seems that you can buy gold with your spare cash. I don't think I would set aside a lot - maybe $5-10k at most? As it is, I haven't gotten to it yet because I haven't attained my financial goals yet haha

I diversify my portfolio by buying watches (3), my hdb. Most of my assets are in ETF, stocks, bonds....
